Really happy with the service Mervyn gave. We initially had an issue with the price on the system coming up as more than we booked for online but he ended up resolving that. He was also very helpful when sourcing a desired model for an upgrade. He is an asset to the team!

I recommend you to call Thrifty directly, since we were ordering through their web page and even though it was just around 10 hours prior to our pick up time, on the web they list cars for rental that they do not have availible. That to me is great shame, since I would tend to think that just a few hours before the rental the company should know well what cars they can offer, but I digress. The rental itself was uneventful, we inspected the car which was clean, except some old parking tickets in the center console and candy packaging in the trunk. Mechanically, the vehicle was sound and had numerius scratches and chips, which I of course do not blame the rental company for. Also, as most rentals are, it did not have many options. All the paperwork took maybe 20 minutes and we were on our way. The rental cost itself and deposit were budget-friendly and actually, our deposit was returned after just a week, which was good to see. Convenient was the option to return the car elsewhere, since this branch was closed on our return date. All the employees were professional and helpful and I would use their services again.

SCAMMERS Be careful not to go to this agency. They claimed that our VISA gold card was a debit card and not a credit card (even though the THRIFTY reservation confirmation clearly indicated that it was a credit card) and therefore that they could not do a pre-authorization for it. the deposit (which we do all the time for rentals obviously). They wanted to make us pay 3000 AED, theoretically refundable... After 40 days!! Less transfer fees, exchange fees etc. We refused and requested free cancellation because they did not respect their own General Conditions of Sale. The THRIFTY agent was stubborn, kept saying the same thing all the time (cancellation with costs!!) and did not want to pass on his superior to us. He claimed that we would be contacted by customer service for the refund and that we would have to negotiate directly with them. I have not been contacted. He gave us an email address to contact which returns error messages.... We therefore lost the rental amount.

Attention! These are scammers! On October 24, we rented the car for two days. They returned it on time and did everything according to the contract! More than a month has passed, but the deposit has not been returned, although the contract stated that the deposit will be returned within 21 days. They dont answer letters. I do not advise anyone to deal with this company. The final cost instead of 300 dirhams cost us 3,500 dirhams.

Ok service when renting the car, but the return was difficult. Not possible to return it to the hotel where we booked it. There was a price list of places where we could return the car... Why cant you have a box for keys in the lobby fex...?
