I rented a car from a Dubai broker on June 16th and we delivered it on June 20th without any problems... While renting the car, 3000 dirhams were taken under the name of deposit and it was said that it would be delivered in 30 business days. It has passed 50 business days and they still have not refunded my money. How did the company and the company officially confiscate this money?

Honestly the process was smooth, but having to put a deposit of 3000aed down for the rental period was a bit extreme. On top of that I returned my car at the airport yesterday and was told they would email me a receipt. I am still awaiting that receipt. My hopes are that this doesn t turn into an experience like others have had where they never get their deposit back. The car also smelled like smoke when I received it.

Hello, my name is Ashraf Ibrahim I rented a car from 04/09/24 to 04/15/24 at Dubai Airport at Avis Car Rent, the payment was made by the booking company, everything is fine and they saw that I paid through Booking and they released the car and took a deposit from the credit card I gave them at Avis After I returned to Israel, I checked my credit card and they once again took the payment in the amount of $205.00 on 04.24.24, even though I paid for the booking and was not a confirmed customer.

Good morning dear, The following are the problems that occurred during the car rental period: 1-I booked online on the evening of April 16th and picked up the car at Dubai T1 Airport on the 17th. However, when I picked up the car on the same day, due to the special disaster weather in Dubai on 16/17, the model I originally booked was not available. After communicating with the salesperson, I paid an extra higher price for another model. But on the same day, I understood and accepted that due to weather and road conditions, many roads were blocked by water, and the original model I booked could not be delivered. 2-But the problem was that on the morning of the 18th, the right front tire of the car was flat and could not be driven normally, so I contacted the salesperson in time and took pictures to confirm the problem. The salesperson told me that there was a spare tire in the car that could be replaced, but during the replacement process, the spare tire was too small and the tools could not be used. The salesperson said that due to the current traffic conditions, the maintenance personnel could not arrive at the scene to help. Under such circumstances, I found a tow truck to replace a new right front tire at a nearby gas station. 3-Now, I hope that considering the bad weather in Dubai at that time, your companys maintenance personnel could not arrive normally to solve the problem. I paid for the new tire and hope that the rental company will refund the cost of the replacement tire, which is 742dhs.

Great experience at AVIS Terminal 1. I arrived at the counter and was directed to my car within 15mins after some admin/paperwork. The person assisting me was Imran who was very helpful with driving tips in the UAE and offered me very good rates for an upgrade which were cheaper than what was offered online. After seeing some of the reviews about not receiving their deposit back, I was a bit anxious about it and was told it would return with 3 weeks after tolls and fines were deducted. I surprisingly received my deposit back in less than a week!

Terrible experience renting a car in Avis Dubai, on several occasions. Was denied a car yesterday, told at the counter that I cannot use a valid driving license if my current residency is in a different country. On a previous occasion, had to wait hours for them to bring my car although it was pre-booked well in advance. I think its a UAE-Avis thing, better avoid them there. The service is great in many other locations. Istanbul airport branch is really good, for example.

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the service provided by Kelly Hanies, who was assigned to assist me. Unfortunately, my experience has been marred by a lack of competence and customer service skills. Kelly Hanies provided inflated rates, and when I sought clarification, she avoided addressing my concerns and ceased responding to my emails. This has not only been frustrating but also raises questions about her suitability for the role. I believe it is crucial for her to undergo additional training to acquire the necessary skills for her position. I am no longer comfortable communicating with her and anyone from the AVIS UAE team. Do not trust AVIS UAE. I was also left on Seen on the IG page.

It takes nearly 20m per reservation just to get the paper ready. Then you need another 15-20m to get the car ready. Only one person at the counter had 6 ppl in line. Do the math!!!

Landed and got my car very quickly. The car was clean and everything worked as it should. The customer service was good and fast. They walked me around the car and got me on the road. Returning the car is a bit of a hassle with the traffic and the tight parking lot, but the return staff was good as well. Will definitely be renting from them again when I return.

Worst experience. The person on the desk is very slow. People are really tired after a flight and have to wait long hours to receive their reserved cars. WHAT THE HELL? Just see the documents and hand over the keys. The car is already booked and reserved and paid for online, then why the ling wait. I waited 2 hours, to get my car. There was only one person in front of me, and it took him one hour to receive his car and another hour for my car. Only one person at the desk. Worst car rental s ever.

My rental reservation was not honored per the policy the AVIS site says. If a customer is delayed, it is our policy to honor a reservation up to 24 hours beyond the stated pick-up time. I booked a reservation nearly three months ago and after traveling 17hrs and experiencing delays I get to DXB to hear they are overbooked and my reservation had been cancelled even though it hadn t been 24 hours and the reservation still showed in my phone. The same reason I didn t call Avis to report delays was the same reason I didn t call to report the issue international rates. Nothing about their own 6 hour policy is shown online or in the rental agreement. For the sake of not being stuck without a vehicle I reserved one that was $500 more than my original rate and was told I had to wait three hours. So much for trying to get ahead of the curve and booking well in advance because of the Cup and F1, where I m supposed to be today. I m fed up with Avis. I m going back to National after 100+ days in a rental each year.

A real rip off ( if I could put ZERO I wuld), I never put any comments on google, but this time I had to. We arrived at 4 AM at Dubai airport the guy at the desk refused to take all our debit cards and said he only accepted credit cards ( metionned in the 40 pages on the general conditions, but who reads these 40 pages?) He didnt even suggest another solution for us. I was pregnant, not feeling well with a 20 month old baby, and did not want to know anything about it. We managed to find another car rental Thrifty who accepted debit cards. In the end I did not even get reimbursed , not even 50% despite all my calls and emails. I have booked several time in Avis as I trusted them, but this will be the last time.

(INT RES NO 22766849FR0) Stay in Dubai from April 17 to 23, 2022 with a car rented from Avis Dubai International Airport, a large vehicle rental brand whose reputation was well established for me, at a very attractive price of 165 . But upon picking up the vehicle and to my great surprise, compulsory subscription to additional insurance in the amount of 166 (...offer immediately less attractive...) otherwise no car. But the scam does not stop there because in addition, we have to free ourselves from paying a deposit of 2000DHS (i.e. 500 ) which we have still not been reimbursed after almost 3 months of expiration and very numerous reminders. Advice to amateurs...

Car drove fine....but its a scam....There are hidden fees that you will see when you return car.....I ended up having to pay an extra 100 bucks.....in US dollars...because they have traffic service fees....and tolls....So they have speed cameras..and if you are going over the limit..it will catch you and send a ticket.....be aware of these things when booking a car in dubai

Hello, I have just arrived in Dubai for the third time and it is the first time that I have taken AVIS, I lost my rental plus he charged me additional insurance and a deposit which must be returned 45 days later.J I reserved a vehicle and the gentleman wants me to rent a larger one because it is supposedly more comfortable for me. I will continue to reserve with Sixt and fortunately Dollar, who is at the neighboring stand, was able to make me a rental immediately. Being with my two children of young age and my wife (with whom he did not wish to speak because he only speaks with men) he decided not to reimburse me for my additional expenses which he decided were useful for me and to threaten me with call the police and didnt want to rent me anything because he had already collected the entire amount. He told me that he was going to ask for advice to reimburse me but having seen the dishonesty of the gentleman I think I was cheated and he ruined me my vacation started because more than two hours wasted. To flee I told him I registered my bank card for the imprint on the Avis site but he doesnt understand . To avoid and especially with their fake debit card excuse If I could have I would have given 0 stars and sincerely run away or cancel your reservation because it will take away your desire to come back. I will no longer rent with a review even in other countries because it is unacceptable that such a large brand lets agencies sully their brands without doing anything (Im not the only one to be cheated)

I recommend you should never rent a car from newspaper in Dubai airport. The worst place, steals your money from the card after you travel, even if you have taken out extra insurance, experience it 2 times on different dates when money is withdrawn, it blocks DKK 10,000 to rent a car. Stay away.

Scam!!! I rented a car from Avis via the internet to go see family. Unfortunately I did not have a credit card but a debit card like 99% of French people so I was charged 1661.50 DHS for the deposit which I was never given back, subsequently I learned that 3 people people around me had the same problem!! It is possible to contact the Avis France service but impossible to get an answer on reimbursement because it is a deductible!! Last solution is to have friends move to resolve the problem and send a letter to Avis and Dubai airport.

Not even worth a star. Just keep your hands off it. After handing it in, you will receive a piece of paper saying that everything is ok. And as soon as you are in Germany, they continue to deduct money from you. For what? It is unknown. Bad customer service. A disaster!

Horrible ! I strongly advise against it! This is the 3rd time I have come to Dubai and this time AVIS refuses to block my deposit of 1500AED under the pretext that I do not have a credit card even though I have never had any problems before ! They forced me to take out additional insurance. I had to pay a total of 2565 AED deposit instead of the 1500 AED initially planned!!! Its a shame !! Unacceptable! I waited 3 months to get my money back and had to harass them

Worst car rental service I ever dealt with!! Service is bad, I rented Mazda online and it wasnt available so they tried to give me Lancer (which was cheaper online) with the same price. When I refused, they told me I have to pay extra to get another car. Respectful car rental offices upgrade for free in such cases. I paid to upgrade the car, and the car I got was in a terrible state, and not maintaining balance on the road. Two months later, they charged me extra with 350 AED without any clear reason.

If you dont want to read the whole story, skip to the recommendation. I booked a 7-seater online. My flight arrived an hour late. Went to the Avis counter and expected that things will be fast. I was mistaken. Although there was no queue, it took the man behind the desk some 30 minutes to give me the keys. I am not sure what he was doing but apparently he needed to note down all the information and make copies of all the documents; a bit primitive for the digital era. When that was done, we went to the area where all the rental cars are parked. The car was not there ! They are bringing it now was the excuse. That took at least 40 minutes. When the car arrives, it was an old Hundai H1 mini-van that has done around 70,000 km. Driving the car more than 80 km/hr made it shake like a leaf in the wind. Overtaking was a night mare too. The following day, I searched the web for Aviss head office, found a number that I called to ask for changing the car. A day later I got a call from the airport branch saying that you can come to change the car. I had to go to the airport again to exchange the car. When I arrived there, the car was not there! It took some 20 minutes more to come. The replacement car was Honda Odyssey which was much better (at least is has a parking sensor). Still looked old though (did some 93,000 km). I am truly disappointed. I am used to Avis standard in Bahrain which was always above my expectations. I dont understand why cant this process by simple (like it is in Europe) where you load all your info online and you get handed the keys in few minutes. Recommendations: If going to Dubai for few days for tourism/shopping, dont rent a car from the airport. Take a taxi to your hotel and rent a car from downtown.

When returning, defects are suddenly discovered that were already present! ! ADVICE: Take good photos of the vehicle when you take it over! Take as many accurate shots as possible. With date! Otherwise it can get expensive!

Car and staff were fine. I returned the car in 2 days, but got billed for 3 days. They agreed that a refund is due, but as of today, its been almost a month, and they have not processed the refund. Customer service responded to my first email, but stopped responding after that. In addition, when I returned the car, I was told that there are no issues. Later they billed me 30 AED extra for fuel. If the fuel was below expected, why did their staff member not mention it ? I also did not get a copy of the inspection sheet. I had to file a dispute for the overcharge via my credit card. So the pickup/dropoff service and car was fine. Too bad their billing department had to screw up the experience and earn a 2 star review instead of 5 star.

DONT RENT FROM THIS AGENCY. I booked on the website for one week (164 ). When I came to the agency they told me that I have to pay 300 !! Because of the insurance... which was already included on the website booking !! I changed for an other agency (FAST) more serious and less expensive next to them. AVIS = THIEVES !

Absolutely avoid!!! Incomprehensible invoice, payment of 2000 Aed for a deposit which is returned 60 days later. Supposedly! What are they doing with our money during this time?? Its already been a month and a half and I still havent seen the money. This is unacceptable, I regret not having read the reviews before. Take another company.

Thank you for renting a car..it was a great trip.. Renault Duster was in excellent condition, at the time of returning it was all dirty inside due to beach outing... All sand dust.. They didnt charge for washing extra. Thanks for it.

Unfortunately they dont know how to serve clients, they smile at you when you report a problem. I rented Ford sport, worst car I ever drove, stopped working after a week I had to wait to get a replacement which was not better...will never rent from them. Not to mention billing problems

Friendly staff, no pressure to buy unneeded extras. Explained everything clearly. Took enough time for inspection. Make sure all damage is noted correctly: because of the age of the cars and the though conditions there will be lots of scrapes and dents. Car was relatively old, and base model. First got a Nissan Patrol with 67k km on the odometer, I guess 2-3 years old. - No navigation or leather. Complained about excessive fuel consumption (3km/l) so car got changed at my hotel on the same evening for a Toyota Land Cruiser - almost 70k driven and I think about same age. This one did use a lot less fuel. Easy return, no added fees - as it should be.
