We had a TERRIBLE experience with AVIS. In May 2024, a colleague visiting from Europe rented a vehicle during his stay in the UAE. Despite completing his rental months ago, he has been consistently following up regarding the refund of his AED 3,000 security deposit. Unfortunately, AVIS has not been transparent about the status of the refund. I personally stepped in to assist with the follow-up and received the same exact generic response (see attached images). After a few more attempts to resolve the matter, AVIS stopped responding altogether. To date, we have not received any clear communication or timeline regarding the refund. For a company of AVIS s size and reputation, this level of service is unacceptable, especially over such a straightforward matter. If they cannot process a simple refund, it raises concerns about their reliability as a service provider. Based on this experience, we cannot recommend AVIS.

I ve dealt with Avis around the world. Always prefer them over the others. However, Dubai s Avis was t the Avis I know it terms of the smoothness in dropping off the car. These two guys, Anderson and preetham, represented Avis very well and because of them I can t give four stars.

I reserved an MG car for six days and it was a good experience, thank God. I am waiting for the deposit to be returned a month from now Continuation: They returned the insurance to me, minus about 250 riyals, even though I had an extra day and delivered the car before it was paid. A fraudulent company, beware of their scams. They promise to return the insurance after a month so that you have gone to your country and cannot claim your rights.

The first and last time I rent from you. I had a very, very bad experience. They gave me a Mazda 6 car that broke down when I arrived at the hotel. The car does not start with the battery and key system. After several attempts, they changed the car to another Kia 5 that had faulty tires After another attempt, I returned to the airport and changed another car, and all of this was on the day of arrival. You can imagine that your arrival is to change cars, wasting your time on the trip, and having no discomfort from the trip because of this, and making some restaurant and cinema reservations. Paid because of this if in less than one star I gave you You are supposed to compensate me for the reservations that were lost due to the breakdown of your car and the loss of my time The insurance amount of 3000 dirhams is too much for bad service

I wanted to share my fantastic experience with a lady who assisted me at the 13:00 on 20th April 2024 Terminal 1 DXB departure parking area. She was incredibly helpful, making the process smooth and displaying a friendly demeanor. I highly recommend hiring more people like her at all Avis locations; it would undoubtedly boost the service level everywhere. However, I must also mention a regrettable experience I had with a gentleman at the arrival office of the same airport. He seemed unable to handle the situation, lacking knowledge of the process and procedures. This led to an uncomfortable waiting time of approximately 20-30 minutes. Eventually, after some shared feedback from my end, which unfortunately led to disagreement, I decided to seek assistance elsewhere. Its important to note that I had booked and paid in advance and hold a presidential membership with Avis. I am giving a 5-star rating solely because of the exceptional service provided by the lady. If it were based solely on the interaction with the gentleman, I would rate it 0 stars. I kindly ask for your consideration of these points.

I booked a car with them through the Expedia website for a week, and when I arrived at the airport, they told me it was not available. Worst experience I had ever, if I could have given less I would have, they didn t assist me properly during the water inondation of Dubai, they order me to pay for police report without assisting me (for a tourist this is not as easy) so I had to pay twice because I filled the wrong report (would not happened if they responded to my message on the assistance channel). Car return was a very simple and quick process. I booked my return for 8pm and arrived a few minutes late with no penalties/fees applied. They checked the vehicle and fuel and I was swiftly on my way. Absolutely horrible. A couple of things that will help people booking cars out of terminal 1. Be prepared, this process can take up to 3 hours. 1- cars are located off site so there is a mandatory wait of at least 30 mins for the car to come to you 2- these cars are stored in a muddy and dusty area, so expect a vehicle that looks like its gone through a construction site. They will burn even more of your time and offer to wash the car as your gettinf delivery. 3- the staff at the desk, even if you prepaid for everything and booked, will take 40 mins to complete your paperwork and payment. 4- if youve booked through a 3rd party and got the insurance, they do not accept this as insurance and will take a hold of 5000dhs anyway on your cc. 5- dont expect a full tank of fuel in your car. Overall a totally amateur rental car experience. My suggestion, book a vehicle from agencies in the city and taxi somewhere off the airport premises, at least you are treated with respect.

The worst rental office in Dubai is not at the level of Avis International. I had an online reservation through the Avis website for a Nissan He requested it, and not only that, he asked me to deposit 5,000 dirhams, not more than the price I booked from the site, 570 dirhams, and the system says these are scammers, and then I came to my side next to them and found a better car at a cheaper price.

Be very careful with this avis branch. Upon return, we claim to find a scratch on the car, while they were Avis staff/management refused to provide evidence based on photos taken before and after return. We protested the acknowledgement of the damage. They said in order to waive charges, we had to have a police report of the incident while our flight was in 2hr and we count afford any police report preparation. We didnt sign the final report and i asked them to remove scratch. Then the guy seemingly and pretentiously changed his tune and said we dont have to pay anything and just sign an acknowledgement of the damage. We have the recording of our conversation where he says we dont need to pay anything and the acknowledgement is only for his record and he will take the responsibility. Upon return home we received an email from avis saying that we r accountable for charges. These folks are pathetic liers. Dont trust any them. I dont know why Avis management does not hold these staff accountable. The incident took place 1/18/2024 in Dubai international terminal one. I dont quite remember the manger/staff name whom we spoke with but would be willing to share more info via email (I have the recording and a letter that the manager/staff fabricated as damage acknowledgement letter). We will definitely dispute the charges with evidences we have. Given this experience, we will not book anything with AVIS.

I always use Avis when going to Dubai. While in the past the car pick up was often a bit of a mess (going from one place to another, wait time, etc ) we had a much better experience this time. We were able to check in directly inside from the terminal (just outside baggage arrival hall) and walk up straight to the car park to pick the car up. The agent even helped us setting up the car seat (which is something they never do in EU and always end up spending a ridiculous amount of time trying to fit it)

Extremely Disappointed - Broken Promises and Financial Loss I am compelled to share my deeply unsatisfactory experience with Avis, which has left me frustrated and financially burdened. We were assured by Avis that they would provide a No-Objection Certificate enabling us to cross the border to Oman. I have sent so many emails regarding this, back and forth, just to get this right and plan our holiday. We were promised by Shenali Phillipsz repeatedly that it would be provided. Regrettably, this commitment was not honored, and the repercussions were severe. To my surprise, when I collected the car they could not provide the NOC which meant that we could not drive to Oman. They knew the rules had changed but Shenali didn t even mention anything to update us regarding this so we had to change a lot of our plans which was extremely frustrating and expensive. We had to pay more than 1500USD for last minute flights due to this oversight. Until now, there s not a single apology or news from her. They refuse to compensate us in any way, not even an upgrade to a better car. The blatant failure to fulfill a crucial promise has not only damaged my trust in Avis but has also resulted in a significant financial setback. The lack of accountability and responsibility for the consequences of their actions is utterly unacceptable. I strongly caution potential customers to think twice before relying on Avis for any commitments, as the fallout from their broken promises has had a profound impact on my travel plans and financial well-being. In light of this experience, I am left with a bitter taste and an expectation that companies should uphold their commitments to customers. Avis, unfortunately, failed in this regard, and I hope this review serves as a warning to others.

The front desk seems to have no intrest to get more customers as soon as he saw me coming he told me we are fully booked. They are the best among the worst. I rented premium SUV but had to replace it a few times due to technical issues. It seems the marketplace for rent a car in DXB and probably Dubai in general is not a smooth sail for all type of tourists and visitors. You will have to expect the worst whether you rent from Avis or other businesses regardless.

Watch out from them, they rip you off after some times. This actually happened with me, I rented a car from them and while using it, I got a traffic violation ticket, I made sure to pay it before I hand over the car, and after a 3 months or so they called to inform me that there s a traffic violation on me, I told them it has been paid, provided them with all proofs from my bank statement and car record which clearly shows that the violation has been paid, despite all of the proofs I gave, still they withdrew 521 AED from my card.

Hello everyone, avoid avoiding first and last time I book with Avis I have gone to Dubai several times this is the first time I have encountered a dispute for car rental 5 months after returning my car I had to fighting to recover my deposit is still I did not have my entire deposit having respected the conditions of the contract it is clearly theft I call on all French nationals to avoid this rental company. Ashamed
