We had rented a car during our vacation in August where we had given a deposit.... We were told our deposit would be refunded within a month. It has now been 2 months and nothing. I have written several emails to the financial department and received only one response....where they told me they were sorry and would look into the matter..... I thought Avis was a reliable car rental company and now I am starting to have doubts

Extremely Disappointed - Broken Promises and Financial Loss I am compelled to share my deeply unsatisfactory experience with Avis, which has left me frustrated and financially burdened. We were assured by Avis that they would provide a No-Objection Certificate enabling us to cross the border to Oman. I have sent so many emails regarding this, back and forth, just to get this right and plan our holiday. We were promised by Shenali Phillipsz repeatedly that it would be provided. Regrettably, this commitment was not honored, and the repercussions were severe. To my surprise, when I collected the car they could not provide the NOC which meant that we could not drive to Oman. They knew the rules had changed but Shenali didn t even mention anything to update us regarding this so we had to change a lot of our plans which was extremely frustrating and expensive. We had to pay more than 1500USD for last minute flights due to this oversight. Until now, there s not a single apology or news from her. They refuse to compensate us in any way, not even an upgrade to a better car. The blatant failure to fulfill a crucial promise has not only damaged my trust in Avis but has also resulted in a significant financial setback. The lack of accountability and responsibility for the consequences of their actions is utterly unacceptable. I strongly caution potential customers to think twice before relying on Avis for any commitments, as the fallout from their broken promises has had a profound impact on my travel plans and financial well-being. In light of this experience, I am left with a bitter taste and an expectation that companies should uphold their commitments to customers. Avis, unfortunately, failed in this regard, and I hope this review serves as a warning to others.

I rented a car for 10 days for my Dubai trip. I paid 2000 AED collateral, they said I would get a refund 45 days after vehicle delivery, so I trusted the promises made. However, they were not paid back in the promised time, and I could not like this behavior to such a corporate company. Do not rent a car from Avis Dubai, you will definitely regret it, I do not recommend it. I wrote so many emails, I called and called, no one answers, absolutely terrible company What kind of thieves are you, immoral people, liars? Its been 2 months since I delivered the car and you still havent refunded my 2000 AED money. You have such a rude company that you dont even answer my phone. Eventually I will come there and take you to court. I hope the money I gave you is a haram sin for you. You have disgraced Dubai with your company. Exactly stay away from AVIS since you will get paid surprisingly even after returning the car. Desk people, who might seem nice, will ask you for a favor comment on google at picking up and also return. Surprising deductions are immediate and sometimes double invoicing but return of deposit is delayed too much 3 weeks). Also web page is very unfriendly for invoice (not possible to get invoice via web page). I am fully disappointed with my first experience with AVIS and it is the last for me. I would prefer 0 star but even not possible. My rating is actually 0-Star.

THIEVES! I called to book, I was told that a deposit of 365 would be taken for the guarantee. When I got there, they charged me 765! What a mess! As we are traveling with 2 young infants needed the process to be seamless (as with most rental companies). Made our booking more than a week in advance, reconfirmed a few days before and again on the morning of our arrival. Upon arrival the person behind the desk told us to wait as the car is on the way. 15min later and his response the car is 20min away, its coming. Another 20min later with still no car in sight. Only after requesting a reversal on my card to go get another car somewhere else did he start calling frantically and out of nowhere a very dirty car appeared with almost no fuel inside, just in time for us to hit peak Dubai traffic. AVIS will not be seeing us again anytime soon

Scammers I rented a car, and the chat support told me I only had to pay for the deposit. When I arrived at the office at the airport, they told me I couldnt pay by debit card. Although the site clearly states that it is possible with a debit card or a credit card. The deposit is either withdrawn or blocked depending on the type of card. The agent forced me to pay additional insurance plus he made me sign on a section that is optional. They gave us the worst car weve ever rented.

Awful experience dealing with this service. Our reservation was for 5 AM at the airport T2. Their office was closed, and the wrong number provided at the desk. After the security guy helped us with the number it took them half an hour or so to get to us. The was only one car from the corresponding class and no chance to choose. Even though our booking was made in advance, we were not able to buy the full insurance coverage in advance and when they started to calculate it, prices were strange, high and we had no idea how it s calculated. Their employees don t try to help and and do anything to improve customer experience.

We rented a car in January 2020. I reserved a Nissan sunny car, but upon arrival this class of car was all occupied. An employee of the company offered a car of a higher class, the 2020 Nissan Kicks, at no extra charge. Im happy with the service. To rent, you must have an international drivers license and a credit card (not a debit card).

Though lady at the desk knew that we are limited, she didn t tell us that we had to wait the car for such a long time. Instead every 10 minutes she was telling that car is coming in 3-5 minutes. I liked everything. We waited for about an hour, but this was our fault, since we took a long time to receive our luggage and were the last to arrive to receive the car (three families from our flight received a car at Avis). The staff at the counter is polite, they also speak Russian. They said that since we had been waiting for a long time, they were giving us a higher class car for the same money (instead of the Nissan Sunny they gave us a Ford Ecosport). The car is new, mileage is 3 thousand km, the interior is clean. Moreover, when booking via the Internet, the amount was indicated in euros, and payment was made in dirhams converted to dollars, and this is three thousand rubles less for 9 days of rent. They offered to rent without a franchise with an additional payment and a booster seat for the child. We refused, since the franchise is already small (1,500 dirhams, that s about 30 thousand rubles; in Greece they charged us 1,200 euros), and we brought the booster with us. Receipt and return with a full tank. Returned the car quickly. I arrived at the same parking lot where I received the car, an Avis employee inspected the car, checked the fuel level, I signed the receipt and that s it. Diposit returned after about 15 days.

My experience with the company was excellent in terms of receiving the car and delivery But I was exposed to a clear scam directly from them By illegally withdrawing an additional amount, the details are as follows: After I delivered the car and returned home, the car rental amount was deducted via my Visa card. This was on 1/6/2019. Then another amount was withdrawn on February 20, 2019 After checking with the bank, the bank told me that it was a fraud and the card was suspended. For your information, I booked directly through the company s application and not through an intermediary. Everyone beware of this type of fraud.

They advised me a convenient rate over a phone but I faced with completely different story then I came over to the counter... - higher rate (and nobody had no idea who I talked to 2 hours ago..), airport surcharge, vat, insurance, different location drop off surcharge (+300 AED if you drop off in AD)... Try to avoid and you will do yourself a favor. Reserved a car prior to arrival, when i reached there they told me it was no longer available and they would offer me an alternative car. The car was 2 years old, in rental terms that is long. The car itself had scratches everywhere. Also while driving it there would be a constant noise heard from the rear. Car really shouldnt have been in use. Added to that they warned me that the car is a non smoking car, which is great for me since i dont smoke and hate the smell of cigarettes. Get in the car, it smelt totally of cigarettes. So i guess they must have charged someone extra for smoking in the car, and pocketed the money to clean the car properly instead of cleaning it for the next renter. Never again.

Did not like custom service rent GPS did not work and I was over charge Dubai airport terminal 2 have no car rental returns signs its took over 1 hours to find the rental place police & airport staff not helpful at all .

Horrible company, they wasted my time. I came to only be greeted by a rude guy working there, it took him around 20 minutes to get everything ready. They gave me a horrible 2015 Land Cruiser that was hit from every side and the carpets and seats had stains on them. I refused to take the car and took my money back from this horrible company never rent from them again.

Took too much time to get the car. Then the car was not as big as described not to mention that it was not in good shape and not a recent model. Asked for another car and took even longer time to get it. Not to say system was down also. Business process is not the best. Usually car rental agents give you the keys straight away. This does not. Never again.

Avoid this shady place. Please read: - I was charged more than my online reservation. I didnt even ask for any additional service or anything. - They made a COPY of my CREDIT CARD without even asking me. This moment started when they swiped my card then immediately made a copy of it. What the heck? - They also charge your credit card with nearly $500 for security deposit at check-in. - After I returned the car, and got my paper and receipt back, They told me you are good to go and we dont need anything. I discovered after a few days that they made (3 unauthorized charges to my credit card) without my consent and without notifying me at all. This due to the fact that they copied my credit card. - I will report to the Dubai police about these criminals.

Not sure why this place has such bad reviews, Harris was really nice and helped us get a good car/rental rate. Did not have any problems returning the car either. It did take a long time to actually get through the car process but not much more than any other car rental location. Have not received a bill after our rental so I will update this if I do.

SCAMMERS TO ABSOLUTELY AVOID +++ Reservation via the Avis.fr website for a Nissan Sunny for a week, receipt of confirmation and withdrawal of money from my account. When I arrived at the agency counter, the person said they did not have my reservation and refused to let me have a car. No conciliation and no arrangement possible, after an hour of negotiation, I take a car from a neighbor, telling myself that I will be reimbursed for my reservation Opinion... well no, REFUSAL OF CUSTOMER SERVICE NOTICE FRANCE OF ME REPAY. Big scam, supporting proof and available for anyone who wants to check. NEVER RENT FROM THEM.

I rented from this location with AVIS, service was joke, took one and half hours to get car, Cars old dent no hub cap, to many kilometers, return took 1 hour and all most missed flight. Agent wanted me to drop keys , but this fishy start with Avis I didnt want it do it. I wanted them to inspect and give me final receipt. So I got receipt with every ok. 10 days later they charge me 600 dh. When I emailed and called no one cared and told me that is ticket from Dubai police,when I asked them to provide me proof or any documents that you get this from dubai police,they keep sending me Invoice that they Avis generated nothing from dubai police or RTA. I called Dubai police with licen plates and ticket number that Avis provides,they find nothing in system and never venu violation in last month under information that Avis gave me. I email Avis few times asking me to provide document or epayment receipt that they paid dubai police or RTA. But they are keep sending Avis receipt . And keep denying for payment or any prrof that they got for my Violation. They scam money to customer like this way or damaged on car. DO NoT REnt with AVIS . Take taxi, you will save more time and money ,

bad service..the inspector was not friendly, just sat in the car and asked me to inspect the car by myself, when i notice a small scratched he just say no problem and make like annoying face. He isn not smiling at all. Then when I returned the car, the inspector informed me that everything is ok and ask me to give signature. Few days later i was charged AED 442 in my credit card for nothing although i had paid AED 75 per day for full insurance coverage.Avis didnt informed or sent me the breakdown of deduction of AED 442 not even via email. I had notify my bank to freeze the payment until i get clarification form avis Dubai Terminal 2. my agreement no HP 4004908-1 avis rep mr. haris.. this is my first and last rent with AVIS Dubai at terminal 2. i know avis will not bother to loss only 1 customer but i just want to express my impression for the BAD EXPERIENCE that i had.
